The IBR was set up in 1994 by Jenny Wray following the deregistration by the DEFRA of non-indigenous birds of prey. The main purpose was to ensure that lost / found birds may be reunited with their owners.

Huxley's is not just a bird of prey centre but also has a beautiful garden to relax in. There is a selection of rare tropical plants as well as a colourful display lawn.
There are hawks, falcons, eagles, vultures, buzzards and owls as well as our character birds: Reaper the Raven, Coco the Crested Caracara,
Ebony the Striated Caracara and Sydney our laughing Kookaburra.
